Leadership Education:

The Center for Leadership, Management, & Innovation (LMI)provides curriculum tracks and educational resources for all employees. Our curriculum delivers the highest standards of academic excellence and is constantly revised to meet the changing and increasingly complex needs of current and future leaders.

Leadership
Leadership curriculum offers four levels of development opportunities. Aspiring through Operational leaders participate in dynamic learning environments designed to build and strengthen leadership competencies.

Management
Management curriculum offers opportunities to those who are interested in personal development as well as developing skills for working with others.

Innovation
Innovation curriculum examines creative problem-solving as a mindset as well as a set of principles, practices, tools and techniques.

Orientation
Lancaster General Health offers weekly New Employee Orientation sessions for more than 1,000 employees a year. The orientation program is a two-day event providing an overview of the Lancaster General Health system; focusing discussion on LG’s mission, vision, strategies and core values. Employee benefits, team building, patient satisfaction and computer education are also part of the orientation process.

Computer Education
Courses include Orientation to Computers and E-mail, Advanced Windows, Excel Training , Outlook Basics, Basic and Intermediate Power Point. In addition to instructor-led classes, you can take CBT (Computer-Based Training) courses for MS Office applications by contacting one of the computer educators to schedule a time when the room is available to do self-guided programs.


Nursing Education
The Institute for Professional Development (IPD) offers a variety of classroom-based continuing education opportunities throughout the year. Life support classes, including ACLS, CPR, NRC and PALS, are offered on a monthly basis. In addition, the IPD offers classes in the following areas: 12 Lead EKG, Advanced Pacemaker, Basic Arrhythmia, Critical Care Course, Heart Failure, Intra-aortic Balloon Pump, IV Therapy, Medical-Surgical, Monitor Tech, Neuroscience, Oncology, ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy, Open Heart, Ortho, PACU, Peripheral IV Insertion, Preceptor Courses, Trauma, and Unit Clerk.
