Community Commitment

From its start as a locally owned, non-profit hospital and health system more than a century ago, Lancaster General Health has been dedicated to improving the health of Lancaster County. As Lancaster County grows, so does Lancaster General Health’s efforts at prevention and early intervention of illness.

We look outside the walls of Lancaster General Health and collaborate with individuals, organizations and agencies throughout Lancaster County to proactively address health issues today and in the future. Because Lancaster General Health is a community resource, we dedicate our efforts to ensuring responsible stewardship of local healthcare dollars.

Guided by ongoing local, state and national research and input from an advisory panel that includes members of the local community, Lancaster General Health focuses its current outreach effort on four principal areas:

• Family violence prevention
• Obesity
• Tobacco use
• Breast cancer
